Alan Tay

Alan Tay

Alan Tay is the principal and managing partner of Formwerkz Architects. He is the current recipient of the President*s Design Award, Designer of the Year and one of the promising architects in the second edition of “20 Under 45” in 2010. Established since 2004, the Formwerkz’s design is centred in the human experience and largely influenced by biophilia. Formwerkz often took to hybridized solutions that interrogate the established typologies, in hope to effect change for a better Future.
Asami Takahashi

Asami Takahashi

Asami Takahashi, Principal Architect of Yume Architects, draws on architecture, economics, software engineering, and music. Educated at Cornell (B.Arch) and Hitotsubashi (Economics), she previously worked as a software engineer in Tokyo and practiced at Toyo Ito & Associates, Steven Holl Architects, and Weiss/Manfredi. A classically trained violinist, music deeply inspires her design approach.
Looi Chee Kin

Looi Chee Kin

Looi Chee Kin holds a Master of Architecture from the National University of Singapore, with nominations for the RIBA President’s Medals and World ArchiPrix. A registered Singapore architect, his work has received FIABCI, Chicago Athenaeum, and World Architecture Festival awards. He previously taught at NUS and continues to pursue independent design work that has received award recognition from the United States, the United Kingdom, India, and Singapore.
Gaurang Khemka

Gaurang Khemka

Gaurang is an architect specializing in urban design with 30 years of experience across North America, Europe, and Asia. Educated at UC Berkeley, he has worked with leading firms including Charles Correa, Kerry Hill Architects, AECOM, HOK, and Populous. He teaches internationally, contributes to professional organizations, and researches AI’s future role in design.
Phuah Hong Thye

Phuah Hong Thye

Hong Thye is a Senior Associate Architect with Kay Ngee Tan Architects. He is a Registered Architect and a Corporate Member of SIA since 2011. Having completed a series of conservation and landscape-related projects over the years, he has taken on a keen interest on the intrinsic environmental relationship between buildings and landscapes. Here at VCC, he experimented by using nature and landscape as the main starting point of his design strategy.
Jonathan Christian Chin

Jonathan Christian Chin

An award-winning architect, he received the Aedas Medal for Best Design Student and the Lee Kip Lin Medal for Best Graduation Dissertation. A Singapore-registered architect, he previously worked at BIG and DP Architects. His installation Park Yourself won the URA-REDAS SPARK Challenge 2021 and Singapore Good Design Award 2023.
