Fire Code and Fire Safety Principles Course

[The e-learning course has been updated to align with SCDF Fire Code 2023]

The Fire Code and Fire Safety Principles Course represents the first self-paced e-learning programme developed by the Academy. This course was a collaborative effort between the Singapore Institute of Architects and the Singapore Civil Defence Force, following a Memorandum of Understanding in March 2022. It provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles and concepts of fire safety in understanding the intention of the regulatory framework of the Fire Code with respect to building design.

Learners will be guided through a range of topics in fire safety principles within different sections of the Fire Code. This framework enables participants to appreciate both rationale and technical requirements with quizzes at the end of each module.

The course is designed for professional architects and allied professionals to understand fire safety principles for design application at early stages of project delivery. It is also relevant to all stakeholders of the built environment who wish to acquire a foundational understanding of the Fire Code and its conceptual underpinnings.

Through this programme, learners will be better equipped to interpret, apply, and integrate the Fire Code into professional practice, thereby contributing to a safe and resilient built environment.

Note: A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon achieving an 80% pass rate on every individual module quiz.
